Where To?
Delete your account
Last updated: September 4, 2026
You can permanently delete your Where To? account and associated personal data from inside the Where To? app.
How to delete your account in the app
- Open the Where To? app.
- Sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Go to the Profile tab.
- Tap Log Out / Delete account.
- Tap Delete account and confirm the deletion.
What is deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, username, avatar, plans, friendships, group memberships, notification preferences, device tokens, and other data directly associated with your account.
Dated offline plan and friend snapshots are cleared from the device, together with recent venue selections, queued status changes, and active location-monitoring state. The app also clears account-specific preferences, the saved calendar destination, and local calendar-export bookkeeping.
Copies in your calendar
Exported calendar entries are copies stored in the personal, shared, family, or work calendar account you selected. They are controlled by you and your calendar provider, not stored in the Where To? account being deleted.
Where To? removes entries dated today or later when the app still has calendar access. Past entries remain. Upcoming entries may also remain if calendar permission was revoked before cleanup could run. You can delete any remaining entries directly in your calendar app.
If Where To? created a local calendar on the device, that calendar remains until you remove it through your calendar application.
What may be kept
Some group suggestions or moderation records may be retained in anonymised form so the app can keep shared group history, abuse-prevention records, and aggregate analytics consistent. These retained records are no longer linked to your deleted account.
If you cannot access the app
If you cannot sign in or cannot use the in-app deletion flow, email hello@wheretoapp.nl from the email address linked to your Where To? account. Include your Where To? username and ask for account deletion. We may need to verify that you own the account before deleting it.
